Protein Bar Problem and Solution

On Thursday afternoon I found myself stuck in Concourse J of the Miami airport with a protein bar problem.Despite the fact it has a food court with five eateries, I actually had to go to McDonald’s – of all places – in order to get an apple (the sliced apple pieces in a bag) and to Starbucks – yes, Starbucks – in order to get vegetables.

That said, there’s no reason to eat poorly in airports. You can get raw almonds, fruit, and vegetables in almost any airport (even in Vegas). I do not accept “I was traveling” as an eating excuse from my fat loss clients.

However, I did have trouble getting one more thing in the Miami airport on Thursday.

Protein.

Listen, almost all protein bars are made of junk – except these.

In the Miami airport, one magazine store had over 6 different protein bar options, but ALL of them were filled with junk.

The junk ingredients included soy protein, high-fructose corn syrup, fractionated palm kernel oil, sugar alcohols, and artificial sweeteners.

Fortunately, there is a solution to bad protein bars. I just
discovered these tasty little ‘homemade’ protein bars.

These bars use all natural ingredients and are gluten-free. They even use non-dairy sources of protein if that is an issue for you.

The most popular flavors are: Chocolate Almond Coconut, Blueberry Macadamia, and Low Carb Cafe Mocha. But I really liked the Vanilla Cashew bar. It’s not too sweet with just the right blend of cashews and vanilla.

Perfect for between meals, while traveling, or frankly, as part of my regular meals. I like them that much.

But there is a bit of bad news…these are ONLY available in the USA.

Sorry.

Bottom line:
When it comes to your nutrition you have to Plan, Prepare, and most importantly, Commit.

Be a robotic action taker.

Create your meal plan. Do your shopping. Set aside time to prepare your food.

This is what separates the winners from the frustrated.

Commitment is what separates the sexy body on Miami’s beaches from the folks who wear t-shirts in the ocean.

Time to get serious.

Add these little protein bars to your nutrition toolbox

By the way, I love Miami. I love South Beach, I love Biscayne Bay, I love the energy of that city. I love flying over it, I love staying in it.

Highly recommended…
