2 Lessons from Vegas

We’d been in Las Vegas for four days, and as always we’d had some amazing dinners (at Joe’s Prime Seafood) and a few Black Russians to celebrate, all while creating some great business breakthroughs for our clients.

Another great trip, another fantastic Mastermind.

That’s how Bedros and I do Vegas.

You see, we’ve beat the game.

And I don’t mean Blackjack or Roulette.

I mean the “game of life”. We’ve won the rat race. We’ve escaped the daily grind. All because we knew what we wanted in life and we were willing to do whatever it would take to get there.

Even though we both went through tough times and dark days while growing up, and while struggling to get our first businesses off the ground, today Bedros and I both agree that we are two of the luckiest men in the world.

We don’t do things we don’t like.

We don’t have to work with people we can’t stand.

We get to control almost every single minute of our days, and every single interaction, too.

Life is good.

But the Mastermind is even better.

Over the four days we went through and helped (one-by-one) over 47 online businesses, giving each one of our Mastermind clients specific and customized advice to overcome the obstacles in their lives.

However, as Bedros noted, a few of our coaching clients didn’t get everything from their “to do” list from the last Mastermind back in sunny San Diego in May.

So Bedros put together some advice for them, and he thought you might be in the same boat as them.

Over to Bedros with a special message for you…

“I know you’re busy. I know you have a huge to-do list of items that need to get done at work and at home, for both your business and your family. And I know that YOU know what you need to do in order to get your business to the next level and earn the freedom you deserve.

But…

…for some reason, you just can’t seem to get around to doing them.

“What gives?”, you’re probably thinking in frustration.

Well, here’s why the procrastination and spinning-of-wheels is happening to you:

1. You’re doing things that someone else who can be getting paid $12/hr should be doing.

As you know, I live by a code that I call, “The 5% rule”.

And the 5% rule says that you only do the things that bring in clients, make the sales, and keep the referrals coming in…

…the other 95% of the things that need to get done in order to keep your business truck’in forward like answering phones, running payments, chasing downing clients and their payment info, and even administration stuff like payroll can all be done by someone else, such as an assistant you find on Craigslist or through your personal network.

Listen, times are tough for average folks and there are a LOT of good people out there looking for work. Be clear and concise when you go looking for talent, and you’ll find great people. (Make sure to read CB’s “Apprentice Ad” for instructions on how to find good people.)

But back to you…

Your job should be to spend 100% of your productive time on your 5% activities that really move the needle in your business.

2. You need to get better at Time Management.

One thing we found in our mastermind group is that the folks who didn’t get everything done in time where the ones who were poor at time management.

Listen, you’ve got to ruthlessly protect and manage your time. When you
do things, do them in chunks. We call that “batch processing”.

So do all of your phone calls at once. Do all of your emails in one sitting. And if you still do the “thing” in your business (such as training), then make sure you do all the sessions back-to-back and then move on to something else.

You also need to start working off lists each day.

Make your list the night before. Do a little prep work too.

Then come in the next morning, shut off all distractions, and do the most important things first.

Like most people, you’ll probably find that the morning is your Magic Time, as Craig calls it. That’s the 2-3 hour chunk of time in the day that you’re most productive and where you can get the most done without interruption.

If you work in your magic time, focus on your priorities, and do only your 5% of activities that really matter to your business, then you’ll start to make BIG breakthroughs like our 7-figure Mastermind success stories, Rick Kaselj, Dr. Mark Costes, Shaun Hadsall, and Shawna Kaminski.

(And YES, all of these folks have kids too, so there are no excuses for you!)

So here’s the bottom line.

Those are the only two reasons why you’re not where you want to be with your business and why you seem to be constantly “busy” but not
getting anything done.

1 – You do too many $10 an hour tasks and not enough of your 5%.
2 – You don’t have a successful Time Management strategy.

Fix those simple mistakes, and like our Mastermind clients, you’ll experience the biggest breakthroughs in your business life.
