Everyone wants more money.

But everyone also wants more personal time.

You can’t have it both ways.

Or can you?

The answer is YES, you can have it all.

But the problem is that few people know how to accomplish both of these things simultaneously.

Much like losing fat and gaining muscle at the same time, increasing your income while achieving more balance can seem like an elusive and downright impossible goal.

But it’s not.

In fact, I specialize in helping my clients earn more while working less and living their perfect lives.

I’ve helped dozens of clients increase double their income (and more) while working fewer than 35 hours a week.

And today, I’m going to show you exactly how they did it and how you can too.

1. Gain Total Clarity on Your Life and Vision

The first and most important step to earning more money while balancing your life is to get massive clarity on exactly what you want when you want it, and how you plan to get it.

When your mind is cluttered and your path is unclear, your daily actions will reflect your mental state.

You won’t be moving towards your goals or taking those important actions. You’ll simply be stuck spinning your wheels like a truck in the mud, making lots of movement but never actually getting anywhere.

When you have crystal clear clarity about who you are, where you want to go, and what you want to accomplish, everything becomes easier.

You no longer have to wonder what you should do each day, you wake up with a bulletproof plan and absolute confidence in your actions.

You’ll be able to evaluate your options and make decisions quickly because you know what your endgame and can filter every opportunity through the lens of your dream life.

Clarity is the great force multiplier in your life that will take you from where you are to where you want to be.

Right now, take a few minutes to ask write down the answer to the following questions.

  1. What do I want to accomplish in my relationships, health, personal finances, and career in the next 1, 5, and 10 years?
  2. What are my core values? What do I stand for that is non-negotiable in my life? Does family always supersede business? Is impact more important than comfort? Do you value your health more than your current social circle?
  3. Finally, what actions do I need to take and what benchmarks do I need to hit in the next 30, 90, and 180 days to accomplish this vision and live in congruence with these values?

Once you have clarity on your vision and values everything in life becomes easierearningand success becomes a matter of simply taking small positive actions each and every day.

2. Remember This Simple Mantra

In every situation, you have one of two options.

You can believe that life is happening to you or that it’s happening for you.

When you believe that life is happening to you, everything is a struggle and you constantly feel like you have “bad luck.”

That guy who cut you off in traffic? Yep, he was intentionally trying to ruin your day. Your boss wasn’t pleased with your latest project? It must be because he wants to sabotage your career.

However, when you flip the script and learn to believe that life is happening for you, challenges become opportunities.

When people do things that upset you, you’ll see it as an opportunity to grow and control your emotions. When something negative happens in your business or career, you view it as an opportunity to become better at what you do and avoid problems in the future.

When you face struggles and trials, you get excited because you KNOW that they lead to growth and future success.

When you believe that life is happening for you, everything changes.

3. Be Patiently Impatient

So often entrepreneurs and high performers are patient with themselves yet impatient with the outcomes they desire.

They have no problem hitting the snooze button, going out drinking with friends, or procrastinating on big projects, but then they get angry that they haven’t hit their first 6, 7, or 8-figures.

If you want to start earning more money while still enjoying a healthy dose of work life balance, then you must turn this on its head.

Become impatient with yourself.

Commit to consistency and taking those small daily actions that will get you to the next level.

But don’t rush the process of success.

Accept that results take time and that success doesn’t happen in one day but success does happen daily.

Your thoughts, words, and daily actions are the only thing that can directly control. So become obsessed with taking the right actions and consistently doing the right things and, with enough time, the results you desire will happen naturally.

4. Become an “Emotional Nudist”

So often high achievers and top performers will hide behind a “Mask of Success”.

They’ll put on a brave face on their social media channels, tell everyone in their inner circle that they’re “Fine”, and pretend that have it all figured out.

STOP!

If you want to start attracting the right people into your life, earning more money, and having a healthy home life, you have to rip that mask off and become what I call an, “Emotional Nudist.”

You must embrace vulnerability and authenticity.

Don’t hide from your flaws and shortcomings, OWN them. Because when you own the areas of your life where you’re not strong, you open up the doors to get the support and accountability you need.

You can’t fake it forever and the longer you spend pretending that everything is ok, the longer success will take.

Don’t hide from vulnerability and authenticity, embrace them.

What have you been hiding from that’s been holding you back? What conversations have you been putting off? What white lies have you told to try and keep up the facade?

Identify them, change them, and I promise, your life will never be the same.

5. Tap Into Your Inner Navy SEAL

Around the time that I released The Perfect Day Formula, infamous U.S. Navy SEAL, Jocko Willink shared a saying that was similar to the core message in my book. While I said “Structure = Freedom”, Jocko’s motto was, “Discipline equals freedom”.

… And he’s right.

As paradoxical and counterintuitive as it might seem, the ONLY way to have the financial, physical, emotional, and spiritual freedom you crave is to “Chain yourself free” and embrace discipline.

You can have the freedom to live a life of total freedom and complete luxury, but to do so, you must first have the discipline to do the hard things, to say “no” to procrastination, inaction, and laziness, and to take small daily actions towards the life of your dreams.

The more structure and discipline you have in your life, the more time you will have for the things that truly matter and the greater impact you’ll be able to have.

Right now, I want you to think of 1-2 areas of your life where you are lacking freedom.

Maybe your health isn’t as good as it used to be and you get winded walking up a flight of stairs.

Maybe you only have a few hundred dollars in your bank account and you’re living paycheck to paycheck.

Maybe your marriage is falling apart due to your incessant workaholism and unclear boundaries.

Whatever it is, get it out of your head and onto paper and then ask yourself, “What structure am I lacking in my life?”

Are you eating unhealthy foods and skipping the gym? Spending more money and living above your means? Are you forgoing date night to spend more time in the office?

Figure out exactly why you don’t have the freedom you desire and then identify the 1-2 actions you can take in the next 24 hours to help you overcome this obstacle.

Conclusion

Success is simple, but it’s not easy.

I know that you’ve probably heard these five lessons before and many of you are probably thinking to yourself, “I already knew that!”

But let me ask you, “Are you applying it?”

Success isn’t complicated.

In fact, it’s one of the simplest things in the world.

But you have to apply these simple principles to actually get the results.

So take a few minutes right now to actually implement the things that you’ve learned today.

Get more clarity, reframe challenges into opportunities, commit to the process while being impatient with the results, embrace vulnerability, and accept that structure is the only path to freedom.

If you will do these five things, I promise you’ll earn more money than you ever imagined while still having time for the things that matter most.
