Triple Your Productivity

Travel day for ol’ CB today as I’m heading to hang out with our friend, Bedrofe Keuilian.

But you’ll get some great advice in a guest article from Certified Turbulence Trainer, Mike Whitfield, today…

Sometimes you just need a kick in the butt to be more productive, and Mikey delivers.

Discover Your Strengths to Be More Productive
By Mikey “Pancakes” Whitfield

One thing that made me feel better about my own time management issues is knowing that even Craig Ballantyne used to go through a vicious time wasting cycle.

I can relate. We all can.

That vicious cycle impacted my productivity. I’m sure you’re familiar with it.

You read your emails. You go to ESPN.com, then NFL.com, and finally, IHOP’s website to see when their next all-you-can-eat pancake special is going on. Then it’s back to your emails.

Yeah. The IHOP thing might be just mine. C’mon. Pancakes? I’m smiling just saying that word.

Anyway, you have hopefully overcome that obstacle by now, and if you haven’t, I strongly encourage you to use Craig’s “Structure Your Day” method. It’s very powerful. It has no
doubt tripled my productivity.

You can see how I structure my day with a whiteboard here:

Today, I want to tell you how you can triple your productivity using your strengths. Mine are:

1. Writing
2. Creating Products

Your strengths will differ from mine, and that’s OK. As you evolve moving your online business forward, you will discover what your unique strengths are. This does take time.

There are so many avenues to online success that it can be overwhelming. There are media buys, facebook ads, SEO, affiliate recruiting, product creation and much more. You might be trying to get really good at all of them. Let me tell you, that’s a big mistake.

My SEO skills are about a two on a scale of one to ten. I understand that, so I don’t force myself to learn all the Google tricks. I have no idea what keywords are used to land on my blog.

To be blunt, I really don’t care. That’s not my strength.

My strength is to wow my readers with my emails so that they are entertained and educated at the same time, keeping them as loyal readers.

Because I have systemized my approach to creating products, I can create a product about ten times faster than my original one.

More products = more value.

That’s why my goal is to run two promos a month for the rest of 2012.

That’s a winning situation because I love writing and creating products. I despise doing keyword research.

Then there are people who are incredible with numbers. Rick Kaselj is currently running 3,468 split tests on his blog and sales sites.

Well, it’s not that many, but his strengths are knowing his numbers extremely well, and because of that, he has built a very successful online business.

Then there are people like Mike Geary who can thrive off of one product because he knows the ins and outs of buying media.

So, sit down and simply ask yourself, “What is it that I love doing and I’m good at?”, then leverage those strengths to propel your online business forward.

Don’t try to be good at everything. Be amazing at just a couple of things, and your business will triple.

To discovering your strengths,

Mike Whitfield
