You see, I recently interviewed marketing legend Brian Kurtz about direct-response marketing and his experiences working with Marty Edelston at Boardroom, Inc. back in the ’80s and ’90s.
Brian truly is a legend. In fact, Early To Rise once gave Brian a Lifetime Achievement Award, and ETR and Boardroom also partnered on a Breakthrough Advertising-related product back in 2004, so we have quite a history.
On our call, the “old dinosaur,” as Brian calls himself, talked about list segmentation and funnel hacking… in the 1990s.
This is an excellent education in marketing.
Brian reveals the history of what’s working now, why we use these methods, and how these methods are timeless.
It’s all because ‘what works’ is based on human psychology… something that has hardly changed over the centuries since the first humans replied to Satan’s direct-response ad in the Garden of Eden.
And even though that was slightly (only slightly) ahead of Brian’s time, the lessons from marketing history will make you a LOT of money in the future.
