I rarely do this but last weekend I had two very busy days and didn’t do one very important thing so my body could keep up with my demands.

Boy, did I feel it. The next day, I was lethargic, achy, and craving foods I don’t normally want to eat. Foods that only exacerbate pain.

So, today I want to check in to see if you’re drinking enough water.

As you know, adequate hydration is a basic (and vital) tool your body needs to maintain a healthy inflammatory response.

When you’re dehydrated it becomes a great reminder of how important your nutrition choices are in reducing painful inflammation.

Have you ever noticed your pain, inflammation, fatigue, and food cravings are heightened and you’re not sure why?

It could be as simple as needing more water.

The inflammatory response plays a vital role in our health but chronic inflammation is dangerous and painful.

Healing really does start on the inside and getting adequate water is an easy place to find consistency. You’ll notice a difference right away with your energy and digestion; plus you’ll begin to see benefits in your skin as well.

Aim to drink 3 liters of purified water daily. I recommend you begin the day with 14 ounces of room temperature or warm water. It’s a smart way to start the day.

You can always add in fresh lemon, glutamine, or a greens powder based on your tastes and needs.

Water hydrates your tissues, gently stimulates toxin elimination, supports the digestive system, and is required in nearly every body process!

I have 3 quick tips to help you drink more water consistently every day:

Carry water with you EVERYWHERE! Support your intention by providing immediate access. I always have my 32 oz. Nalgene everywhere I go!

Set a chime on your phone or computer to remind you to drink 4-8 ounces every hour.

Add in a natural flavor: citrus, cucumber, berries, ginger, herbs, etc. There are so many creative ways to make water flavorful without artificial additives. Plus you’ll reap nutritional benefits as the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants infuse the water.

So, please drink plenty of water everyday. It’s such a simple way to heal inside and out.

Cheers to a tall, refreshing glass of Cucumber & Basil Infused H2O! Yum!
