7 Secrets

Today kicks off another BIG Mastermind week in Vegas. I’m super excited to work with our 45 top experts, to hear from our guest experts, Jon Benson and Jason Ferruggia, and to hang out with my buddy, Bedros Keuilian.

Here’s what I shared at our last meeting in San Diego back in May…

The 7 Things You Must Know for Success

Dear Mastermind Members,

You want to make a difference. You want to live a life that matters. To do that, you must stop letting every day slip away.

You must start your day with positive rituals that get you focused. Do the BIG things first. Eliminate temptations so that you remain focused. Own your day and control your future. I expect BIG things from you!

These are 7 secrets to success that will allow you to achieve those BIG goals!

1) Know Your Vision

You must know what you really want and that’s having your vision.

The vision is for your business and your family life. Know what you want out of life.

It’s interesting when people are beginners, they’ll say a sales goal but don’t really know how to get there. It’s one thing for you to say, “I want to have a thousand sales of my product” but if you don’t have a blueprint for it, you won’t get there. You need a complete vision like, “Here’s how I can actually achieve 50 sales from 20 people or 500 sales from 2 people.”

So think about it. Three years from now, where do you want your business to be? Where do you want your family to be? What kind of relationships do you want to have or need to repair? What kind of workday do you want to have? Once you know what you want to build, then you can determine the tools and avenues to take to get there. That’s the most important part of the equation.

2) Know Your Marketplace

The second thing you need to know is your marketplace. You have to know your marketplace inside and out. You have to know what they want. You can’t take a square peg and try to put it into a round hole. You can’t force your product idea on the marketplace. You have to know what they want.

This is why I tell my coaching clients to write their sales copy first before creating their product because they’ll have a good idea if they can sell it or not. It’s much easier to put a couple of hours into thinking about your sales message than it is to putting a couple of months into creating a product that nobody wants.

What you think the world needs is probably not what they want. Don’t make that mistake. I’ve seen it made too many times. Even Amazon writes before creating. Amazon writes press releases for all their products before any are created, before any specs are even written up because they know they have to be able to sell it and hype it up before anybody is going to be interested in it in the first place. That’s very important.

Getting to know your marketplace is as simple as subscribing to magazines. For example, if your product deals with women and nutrition, subscribe to Women’s World magazine. It shows up every week. Get a subscription to Oxygen. It shows up every month. These are golden for getting to know women and nutrition.

3) Know Where Your Customers Are

You also need to know where your customers are, who’s got them and how you can get them. That’s the most important aspect of what you need to know about your customers. That might mean advertising to somebody else’s Facebook fan page or getting somebody else to be an affiliate for you.

Dan Kennedy had a good quote that said, “People’s problems are their hobbies.” Make Sense? If you buy one diet book, you’re going to buy ten diet books. Many people often don’t have success because they keep buying different books and they’ve turned their problem into a hobby.

Now you want to come along, solve their problem and be the last person they ever need to go to for information. But, it’s very important for you to understand that other people have your customers.

4) Know Yourself

You also need to know yourself, your skills, your strengths, your weaknesses. That will help you determine what you should be doing and what you shouldn’t be doing. If you’re not very good on video, you should not be trying to be the next Mike Chang. There’s just no point. If you’re not the type of person who can sit down for 30 minutes, you’re not going to be the type of person who’s going to build a website around SEO. You need to know what you’re good at and get other people to do the stuff you’re not good at.

So you really need to have some introspection. Think about yourself, your skills, and your experiences. Be honest with yourself. Then you can cross off the things you’re not going to do. You don’t have to do as much as you think to be successful.

If you’re a great networker, a great schmoozer, by all means get out to as many events as possible. You’ve got an unfair advantage over the people that are not because that way, you don’t even have to be a great copywriter, you don’t have to be great at YouTube videos. If you know a lot of people and you’re a go-giver, people are going to want to help you. They really will. It’s so much easier for someone to want to help somebody when they’ve met them in person.

5) Know Your Allies

The next thing you need to know are your allies. Those are your web people, your team and affiliates. You have to know who will help you build success.

6) Know Your Plan

You need to know your plan and you need to take action to implement it. With the right tools and the right mindset you will find success. Sometimes it’s hard, but it can be simple with a plan. You just have to put your head down and grind, that’s what it’s all about.

You also need to listen to those who have “been there, done that”. Don’t reinvent the wheel. One of the most important messages that I tell to anybody that buys fat loss product from me is just follow the instructions. Don’t overthink it. Get the rituals in place. Get the good habits in place. Eliminate the bad ones. Eliminate the temptations from your life. It’s the same for you. To succeed, it’s often the eliminations of the bad things more than it is the implementations of the good things.

Eliminate the time-wasters in your life, the negative people. If you eliminate those two things, I bet you you’ll double your business by this time next year, if not sooner. Get rid of the bad then work on the good. Sometimes, that’s more important.

7) Know Your Endpoint

The seventh and final thing you need to know is your endpoint. What is your end game for all of this? This is part of your vision. Know what you’re willing to do and what you’re not willing to do. Know your vision, your endgame. Know the level of success you want, and the lifestyle you want. When you know you’re endgame and use all these steps you will reach success and happiness. So many of you in our mastermind group are living proof of this.

That’s it guys. Those are the seven things you need to know: Vision, What you want, Your marketplace, Your customers, Yourself (that’s really important), Your allies, Your plan and Your endpoint. If you know those things, you’re going to succeed.
Sincerely,

Craig Ballantyne
