#1 Worst Smoothie Ingredient
Alright, so don’t laugh at me, but I have a subscription to, get this, Woman’s World magazine.
Why on earth would I do this?
Because it gives me a ton of ideas. They always have such bad advice in each issue that gives me three article ideas a week. I can’t keep up with all of the ridiculous things they say!
For example, last week they started out giving some decent advice about making a “green smoothie”…but then they butchered the advice by telling readers to put in the #1 worst traditional smoothie ingredient.
Do you know what it is? (And no, deep-fried Oreos are not a ‘traditional’ smoothie ingredient – ha!)
The answer is…
Orange Juice! (or juice of any kind…with ONE kind worse than others…)
What a terrible idea. That’s a proven way to ruin your fat loss program. Even though orange juice sales are tumbling, I’m still shocked when I see people order this at breakfast.
Here are the facts on orange juice:
– One glass contains 33 grams of sugar (over 25% of your daily recommended intake).
– A glass of orange juice is equal to drinking a glass of soda … it’s that bad for your belly fat.
– Orange juice has almost NO fat-fighting fiber.
– Orange juice probably makes you sleepy.
– Orange juice will leave you hungry in an hour, no matter how much you ate for breakfast.
Bottom Line:” Healthy” orange juice will ruin your fat loss program.
Even worse are “juice drinks” that contain only 10% real juice. Don’t let your kids drink this. These drinks are LOADED with the #1 worst carb ever — a nightmare carb that that money-hungry food industry is conspiring to sneak into just about everything.
In the end, this extremely common carb wreaks havoc on your fat-storing hormones in a MAJOR way, and has even been shown to hamper memory, slow brain activity, and increase your risk of Alzheimer’s.

Keep the added sugar out of your life…you’re sweet enough as it is!
