Recently, you were given the chance to answer a survey.
We at Early to Rise wanted to know what was stopping you from taking the next step towards success and buying our Millionaire Morning Routine course.
There were two surprising, yet common responses:
a) “I didn’t know you had a morning routine program.”
b) “I don’t believe I will follow through.”
I’m embarrassed, and a little shocked.
First, I’m embarrassed that so many Early to Rise customers had NO idea about this amazing new product we had been promoting for three months.
You were being let down because I was failing at my most important job—helping you.
After our team reviewed our marketing, they concluded I had been too “cute and clever” when trying to sell the morning routine video course.
“Craig, we understand what you’re trying to do in these ads,” my team said, “but our readers just wouldn’t get it. Your message isn’t clear, so they won’t appreciate the value of the daily videos and how your morning routine systems will change their life.”
This is a big lesson for any business.
You must be clear and concise about the big benefits of your product to your customer. Focus on them, their problems, their needs, and what you can do for them.
To prevent you from getting too cute in your advertising, do this audit of your promotions:
i) Is it clear what you do? Will people understand what your product does?
ii) Is your offer clear, concise, and beneficial to the prospect? Will people understand what they are getting?
If you’re a real estate agent, do people know what type of home is your specialty?
If you’re a contractor, do people know what kind of jobs you do—and don’t do?
If you’re a coach, do people understand what they get with your program?
If you own a gym, do people understand whom it’s for—and not for?
If you sell a book or a course, do people understand its benefits?
iii) Finally, do you promote your products and services often enough?
You might be holding back on promoting yourself or your products because you don’t want to be seen as too “sales-y.” But if your business strategy is to simply hope and wait for someone to buy, that won’t work.
Don’t let a lack of knowledge about your product hold you back from success.
The second, and more surprising, reason that readers did not purchase the course was self-limiting beliefs. I’m here to fix that.
“Craig,” one reader said in a survey reply, “I know that it’s important to have a morning routine, and I know that it’s worked for you. Heck, I even know it will work for me, but listen, I’ve tried this before and I just don’t believe I will stick to it and follow through.”
This revelation was like a cold bucket of water to the face. You knew the solution was there but you weren’t even trying because of self-limiting beliefs.
That’s when our team realized—and you should, too—that potential clients need to climb the following “Ladder of Belief”:
First, you must believe that our products and services will work for anyone. This is accomplished by sharing our own personal stories of transformation.
Second, you must believe that our products and services will work for others. This is accomplished through social proof (success stories and testimonials).
Third, you must believe that our products and services will work for you. This is accomplished by overcoming your objections (such as lack of time, access to equipment, your current status in life, etc.)
Finally—and this is the hurdle that most people miss—is that we must convince you that you will actually follow through.
Remember, you believe it works. You just don’t believe that you work.
You think you are broken because of past failures or life experiences.
It’s not that you don’t believe in the power of mornings. You know that successful people owe their results, in part, to a morning routine.
You know that my morning routine allowed me to write my book, “The Perfect Day Formula.”
You also know that you need a better morning to get more done and have less stress.
But still, when told about the morning routine course, you say, “I don’t believe that I will actually follow through with it.”
In other words: “I don’t believe in myself.”
Self-limiting beliefs are that powerful.
Self-doubt is probably one of your biggest obstacles in life. What has it stopped you from doing in the past? Asking for a raise? Asking for a date? Writing a book? Running a marathon?
Your internal resistance has killed too many of your hopes and dreams. It must stop now.
As the great speaker Les Brown so eloquently said:
“The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered—all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or carry out their dream.”
Your limiting beliefs put you in a prison.
The walls were built with beliefs we learned while living in a place of scarcity, fear, or lack. Walls like these:
You developed a bad money mindset while listening to our parents fight about bills.
You built a bad relationship with food because it helped ease a childhood pain.
You built emotional walls to protect you from the outside world.
But on the other side of those prison walls is the best version of you.
You have seen glimpses of what you can do when you live up to your potential and make the right choices.
It’s time to knock the walls down.
That’s why Early to Rise shows up every day with videos, motivational quotes, Facebook posts, Instagram inspiration, and every source of encouragement we can think of to help you knock down those walls and set you free.
We show up every day to make it clear that your past failures are not your fault.
We must show you, over and over again, that past successes can transfer over into success in every area of your life. That you already have the tools you need for success.
Proving this to you, that you CAN do it, is our overriding priority.
That’s why we show up every day, with better clarity in our message, to build a stronger belief in you—showing you, with persistence, that you can follow through.
This is the solution for overcoming the two biggest obstacles in my business: holding you accountable by walking you up the “Ladder of Belief” every single day (leveraging our daily content and emails), and honing our messaging so it’s clear what we can do to take your life to the next level.
This persistence has worked for me, and I know that it can work for you, too. Together, we will make an ever greater impact on the world.
