Seasonal Change for the Better

Autumn is making its way here and with it comes the opportunity to change right along with the leaves and the weather. From your daily workout routine to your major life goals, using a seasonal transition to facilitate your own personal transformation is a natural way to encourage growth and creativity in your life.

This past month we took a deeper look at how to simplify your perception of change and ways you can be empowered to achieve those big dreams!

I don’t know about you, but I often feel almost antsy when the seasons are shifting. It’s as if my spirit is signaling my mind and body that this is the perfect opportunity to tackle something new.

Any time you’re ready to take on a new goal or step into a big dream it’s a good idea to map out your vision so you have a clear understanding of how your mindset will contribute to your success and what kind of daily routine you will need to put in place in order to realize your goals.

When it comes to making changes to your life there are three tangible areas we can focus on that will build a foundation for your success no matter what your goals are – Sleep, Movement, and Nutrition.

Sleep is so necessary to our overall health, vitality, and function that I wrote a whole article on the impact that one extra hour of sleep made in my life. With adequate rest, you are more resilient, more focused, and more energized.

Movement is another foundation piece that allows us to feel connected in mind and body. It produces a boost in mood-enhancing endorphins, helps balance our hormones and builds confidence and strength. And it doesn’t require a lot – walking may be exactly what you need or a shake up to your interval routine. Even cleaning up your form on foundation exercises, like the squat, can provide the type of discipline and focus that spills into achieving other life goals.

Of course, nutrition is a large part of how we function and show up each and every day. Learning to choose foods that nourish your body, support healthy digestion, and provide the energy to accomplish all you set out to do each and every day is a journey. Whether you’re ready for a small shift, like making your own condiments or a bigger undertaking like creating allergy-free pizza from cashew butter, no step you take in improving your nutrition is too small. Enjoying the process is what matters … in this way you’ll feel like you can have your pumpkin spiced cake and eat it, too!

There is one more aspect to making changes that isn’t as concrete as sleep, movement, and nutrition, but it might be the most important of all – Accepting the process.

Accepting the process of change is like a magical fuel that powers you through even the trickiest of sticking points. It brings you to accept the present moment, awaken your curiosity for what’s happening, and enlist your creative powers to find a way forward.

So, no matter what you’re going through in this season of change know this:

You are exactly where you are supposed to be, doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing, and Life is unfolding in its perfect timing.
