7 Kitchen Lifesavers

Are you still struggling with cooking your own healthy meals at home?

Because you don’t have to, you know; There IS a solution for a better lifestyle.

You see, nobody likes to spend hours in the kitchen, today, tomorrow, and every single day.

I know, because I’m a professional chef and I do cook all day. But when I finally get home to my wife Carissa and our children, trust me, the last thing I want to do is cook.

It’s not that I don’t like to cook (I do!), but sometimes, we all need a breather. Or we just need to find a solution so that healthy food on the table happens fast, easy, and cheap.

That’s why I’ve come up with a formula so that the cooking can get done as quickly and easily as possible.

Here’s my formula:

  1. Keep it simple
No need for a complicated meal. You just want healthy comfort food that’s ready when you want it. All of my recipes can be done in under 30 minutes, and contain common ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.
  2. Be organized
The best advice I can give you (and some useful advice I received at chef school) is organization. The more organized you are in the kitchen, the easier it will be to cook and be done. For instance, plan your meals, your grocery list, and your production list ahead of time.
  3. Get help
I mentioned my friend and Master Nutritionist Missi before. Her weekly meal plans based on my book Eat More, Burn More is a tremendous life-saver. It’s a done-for-you solution that you shouldn’t pass on.
  4. Clean as you go
This is actually the first thing culinary students learn. You never cook, and then throw dirty utensils in the sink so they accumulate. You clean them as you go for organization and speed.
  5. Be frugal with your time and your money
I am. So I created my mini-cookbook: 5-minute meals under $5. If that’s not a life-saver in the kitchen, then I don’t know what is.
  6. Be a part of the community
Eat More, Burn More has a fast-growing Facebook community and I answer all of your questions online, as well as provide new advice, chef tips, and recipes. I want to help you. Don’t miss out on that.
  7. Cook in batches
This is the best secret ever. What you need to know is that cooking for one takes about the same time as cooking for 10. So cook for 10! Then package it for later use, as leftovers for the next day or two, or freeze it for longer.

Sound like a plan? Now go ahead and quit struggling with your daily dinner routine.
