What I understand about what has been presented, is that you also need to be a follower.

As a matter of fact, too many people claim to be or profess to have the answer to success.

Yes each of us needs to have an instructor, mentor, and for them to be able to bring out the talents we have.

We hold an annual dance contest to raise funds for our local hospital. See our web site about it at http://www.DancingToANewBeat.com.

This year with donations and attendance at the May event, and with raffles, sponsorships, etc. we netted over $200,000 to buy new cardiac equipment for our Saddleback Memorial Health Center in San Clemente, CA.

I, and about twenty others, are on the fund raising committee for the hospital, and it was a true joy to see these dancers, many who had rarely danced before, buckle down and take their dancing seriously for weeks, with an instructor that THEY paid for themselves.

More than 400 people watched them compete on May 17 in a festive atmosphere and the event was deemed a huge success. The dancers experienced much of what is said above. Teamwork made the dancers look terrific on the dance floor; teamwork made the event a big success. Bill Koelzer

Leadership and dancing, what a great explanation. Since dancing is my hobby, here is one of the lessons in partnership that a woman learns from dancing.

A woman has the responsibility in a dancing partnership to make the man look like a good leader and to cover up his mistakes as much as possible. This makes the dance more enjoyable, and it increases a new male dancer’s confidence (or new leader). Again, he gets better.

This doesn’t mean that a woman, or a business partner should cover up for the other person forever. After some progress has been made, then it’s time to “cover up” about 10% less. But your partner is now open to learning and improving.

I always wanted to be a professional letter-writer, since I write well and, as a psychotherapist, am sensitive and knowing regarding the human condition. Guess my chance has passed, but it was interesting to see such a profession ever existed. I thought I made it up!
