Social Bookmarking and Link Building for Free Traffic

Today Rick Porter is going to explain link building and social bookmarking.

Now who would have ever thought you’d see the words “social” and “bookmarking” together in the same sentence?

Maybe “bookmarking”, “nerd”, and “wedgie”, sure, but not bookmarking and social.

Then again, the nerds have inherited the earth, and so today we’re (well, really Rick Porter, SEO guru) going to give you a lesson on how to use Social Bookmarking to get more traffic to your website.

A reader, Bryan from PrimalAthlete.com, asked:

“I would also like to ask about getting quality backlinks? It’s my understanding that programs that do this for you aren’t effective.

1) Is this true?

2) Would it be better to outsource someone to do the backlinks for me?

3) I’m also curious about which social bookmarking program Rick uses or would suggest?

Thanks for all you do here Craig! I’m truly shocked at the value you’re giving away. It has taught me the valuable lesson of how to create a loyal following by giving and not constantly promoting or selling . You’ve definitely got a loyal follower in me.”

Answer: No problem, Bryan, and it’s easy when I have experts like Rick Porter to help out.

So here’s what Rick said…

“I use a variety of bookmarking applications as some of them are built into all in one type SEO Software but my main social bookmarking powerhouse that I use is Bookmarking Demon (BMD).

(Bookmarking Demon? Seriously, the nerdlingers have gone too far. – Craig)

The benefit of using something like BMD is it has over 100 social bookmarking sites and it will actually automatically sign you up and confirm your email.

So you can literally sign up for 100 social bookmarking sites automatically and then bookmark your pages and posts to 100 sites.

To get even more benefit out of it you can setup multiple accounts. I have as many as 70 accounts on some social bookmarking sites.

There are a lot of tips to get the most out of social bookmarking and the user manual actually covers quite a few of them.

Now about getting QUALITY BACKLINKS for free website traffic

Bryan askd, “It’s my understanding that programs that do this for you aren’t effective.

1) Is this true?

And my answer is that it is absolutely not  true at all.  Most backlink building programs are running on a macro script so it is actually just mimicking what a human being would be doing, filling in the blanks with all the user info and moving on to the next site.

With software like this running you can actually have up to 10 to 30 threads running at once, that would be the equivalent of having 10 to 30 VA’s all simultaneously using your computer breezing through sites and setting up backlinks.

It’s impossible to tell whether a human or computer actually did the work.

A good link building program can build just about any kind of link and do it quite fast.

If you are worried about building links too fast there are even programs you can run that are on a scheduler.

I use a very powerful piece of software where I can have an entire campaign done that submits to press release sites, article directories, blogs, video sites, and social bookmarking sites just submitting to a few sites per day and then even social bookmarking those new URL’s.

It would be just like a human going through and submitting to just a few sites a day and then bookmarking those backlinks.

With software like this you can manage dozens of websites that are making you money for different keywords.  And if you aren’t using automation software you are probably most definitely competing with people that are if you are in a profitable niche.

There is a lot of false information about link building/link building software.  The best way to find out is to gather your own proof through testing.

And in your other question, you asked:

“2) Would it be better to outsource someone to do the backlinks for me?”

My answer…

I think it’s a good idea to either outsource your backlinks or train yourself with link building software so that you can have it running in the background while you are building new sites and creating great content.

One powerful thing I learned at the recent 100K Mastermind meeting with Bedros and Craig was that I need to focus on my 5% tasks that actually make me money and have other people do the 95% tasks that are supportive.

My 5% that makes me money is creating pages of content that is actually selling something.

The backlink building is something that helps those pages rank and get traffic but without the pages I don’t make any money.

I found that for every page I make it creates some kind of income so I need to focus on making more pages and just letting the automated software and my VA’s do the link building for me.
