Imagine if There Were Only 6 Numbers to Choose from When Buying a Lottery Ticket!
Wouldn’t that be great?! Of course, the fewer the choices, the more likely your chance of success, right?
How many choices are there when buying and selling shares? Errmm… a LOT! Hundreds… One of the reasons I enjoy such consistent success from trading is because I only have 6 options to choose from! Except this is even better in a way, because the lottery is pure luck…
… I only have 6 choices AND have a VERY good idea about which choice to make because of the insider signal. Click here to learn more…
One More Candlestick Pattern That Can Make You Money
In ETR #2123 and #2124, I told you about how to use candlestick patterns to help you decide what sort of trades you should be making. Today, I want to tell you about another set of candlestick patterns that can help you decide when to enter and exit trades: the Bullish Engulfing and the Bearish Engulfing patterns. (Click here to see examples.)
Once again, these are reversal patterns, just like the Doji, the Hammer, and the Shooting Star patterns.
They are called engulfing patterns because the body of one day engulfs the entire body of the previous day. These patterns show a shift in momentum: The bullish engulfing pattern is a sign that the bulls have seized control from the bears, and the bearish engulfing pattern is a sign that the bears have sized control from the bulls.
Whether you are a short-term trader looking for small, quick moves or a long-term investor looking to time your entries and exits better, candlestick patterns should help make your decisions more profitable.

The Most Overlooked Marketing Strategy in the History of the Internet
What good is it to have a website – one built with profits in mind – if potential customers can’t find it? Sure, you can drive Web traffic to your site in any number of ways… with e-mail, banners, and print ads, to name just a few.
But, if you think about it, there’s no better way to score online customer prospects than by reeling in people who:
- Reveal what they’re interested in
- Request information on it, and
- Visit your website at zero, or nominal, advertising cost
That’s where search engines come in.
Search engine marketing is the ultimate low-cost, high-return form of targeted advertising. And, by the way, it’s all quantifiable.
You see, opportunities for profit still abound on the Internet. And make no mistake… there’s no better way of getting traffic to your website, and staking your claim in the online industry, than by employing the sound practices of search engine marketing.
Tens of thousands of websites hang their entire businesses on it.
In fact, one of the most appealing aspects of search engine marketing is the level playing field this medium affords. Small players can compete with the Big Suits – and win – by outmaneuvering them.
But you can bet that those who’ve already figured out how to get their websites to the top of Google’s, Yahoo’s, and MSN’s search results would prefer to keep their competitors in the dark.
You see, there’s no shortage of information out there on how to win in the search engine wars. While some of these resources can be accurate and helpful, much of it tends to be outright misleading… which could prove disastrous for your website’s search rankings.
The best information – the secret sauce producing big profits for leading websites – is largely held under lock and key by those who possess this knowledge.
Today, I’m going to give you the pivotal first step – a simple strategy overlooked by the majority of website owners. You can employ it right now to propel your site to "organic" search success. (And keep in mind that getting a top "organic" – as opposed to pay-per-click – search ranking for your website doesn’t cost you a thing.)
The #1 most important first step to getting your website to the top of the search engines is this: Give every webpage on your site a "searchable" Page Title.
Search engines rank webpages by sending automated "bots" or "spiders" all over the Internet to determine which ones are most relevant and useful to the reader (relative to his/her search query).
The first thing these bots look for as they scan every webpage?
The Page Title!
The Page Title is the first clue for the search engines as to what a webpage is about. So, if your webpage content focuses on, let’s say, "dashboard hula dancers," you’d be doing yourself a disservice to make your Page Title anything but that.
The trick, then, is knowing what "keywords" your potential customers are searching for. Keywords are the cornerstone and starting point of every search marketing strategy. Understand that keyword research is never a one-and-done deal. Rather, it’s an ongoing process of finding every possible permutation of your core keywords, as well as your "long tail" keywords… each of them an opportunity for a sale or a conversion.
Here’s how to go about doing keyword research for your site…
Go to Wordtracker.com. For about $30 a week, or a yearly $299 subscription, you can discover the keywords people are using to find websites in your industry. Simply type in the keywords that come to mind, and the software returns a series of related keywords, along with estimates of how many times per day searches for those keywords occur.
Wordtracker offers a complimentary trial run of its keyword service, too. You can find the same free (yet limited) results with it, plus additional keyword results from Yahoo/Overture’s pay-per-click database (on digitalpoint.com/tools) via the Keyword Suggestion link.
An item of note when crafting your Page Titles…
The Page Title is actually two things:
- It’s the title you type in at the top of each webpage, advisedly in big, bold letters to distinguish it from the page’s main body copy.
- It’s also the title you type into each webpage’s meta title tag, within the html code. Very easy, and hardly technical.
Using a keyword-oriented Page Title is a simple way to get your website ranked at the top of the search engines and ultimately bring more traffic – and more motivated buyers – to your site.
If you’ve only just green-lighted a killer idea for a site but haven’t yet cleared the hurdles for launching it – consider the money you’ll be leaving on the table by not employing search engine marketing techniques from the get-go.

3 Things to Do Before Every Business Meeting
Think of each meeting you attend as an opportunity to show how good you are. Prepare to be good by:
- Reviewing your notes from the last meeting. You’ll be surprised at how many resolutions have not been followed up on and how many good ideas have been set aside. Do something on your own to advance some of those ideas – and make sure everyone knows about it.
- Getting some materials to make your case. If you are planning to argue a point, buttress your argument and demonstrate how well-read you are by digging up some facts and figures that support your position.
- Outlining your comments beforehand. This will help you keep your composure and make a forceful presentation.

The Truth About Coconut Oil
Readers of my newsletter have been asking me if what they’ve been reading on the Internet about the benefits of coconut oil – which used to be considered detrimental to heart health – is true.
Some websites are making claims for coconut oil that seem to go beyond what the limited research tells us. One website claims, "Coconut Oil Is The Smarter Fat That Helps Promote Weight Loss." Another claims, "Coconut Oil Can Cure Your Hypothyroidism." Still another claims, "In traditional medicine around the world coconut is used to treat a wide variety of health problems, including the following: abscesses, asthma, baldness, bronchitis, bruises, burns, colds, constipation, cough, dropsy, dysentery, earache, fever, flu…" and the list continues through the rest of the alphabet.
Most smart nutritionists never thought coconut was unhealthy. After all, people in many parts of the world have been consuming coconuts for many years, sometimes in large amounts, with no apparent adverse effects. Coconuts and coconut oil are healthy additions to one’s diet. The problem arises when marketers and promoters make it seem that these are miracle foods, and people then think that the more they consume, the healthier they will be. Thus, their diet goes off balance and they fail to incorporate other healthy food choices.
Those who never or rarely consume coconut or coconut oil products would likely derive some health benefits by incorporating coconut in their diet. However, those who consume coconut on a regular basis aren’t likely to incur additional benefits – particularly if the excess coconut increases their caloric intake or is a substitute for the beneficial oils found in flaxseed or fish oils.
I don’t think that large amounts of any oil are healthy… no matter what you read on the Internet. Instead of consuming large amounts of one type of oil, try small amounts of a variety of oils. This way, you’ll get the benefit of a number of different fatty acids rather than just one. In my opinion, fish oils and flaxseed oil are your healthiest options, but olive oil and small amounts of coconut and other oils can certainly be part of your diet.
As much as possible, ingest your oils without heating them. If you do use them for cooking, keep the cooking temperature as low as possible.

It’s Fun to Know: The Lunar Ark
A group of experts from around the world are recommending that a moon-based archive of our planet’s culture, learning, and technology be created to help civilization recover in case of a planet-wide disaster (such as an asteroid or comet impact similar to the one that wiped out the dinosaurs). Members of the France-based International Space University are laying the groundwork for this project, hoping to start landing archives-armed robots on the moon soon.

Word to the Wise: Otiose
Something that’s "otiose" (OH-shee-ose) – from the Latin for "leisure" – is lazy, useless, or ineffective.
Example (as used by Peter Conrad in New Statesman): "The umlaut he affected, which made no difference to the pronunciation of his name, was as otiose as a pair of strategically positioned beauty spots."
