I almost died last Thursday.

And there I was on the weekend as I started writing this to you, at 4:37am in a Holiday Inn hotel room in little Lapeer, Michigan, wondering what it all meant.

Was it a sign?

I’ll answer that in a minute, but first, let me tell you what happened…

You see, last Thursday I came about 50 feet (or what felt like a lot less) from death.

It was one of those weird “sunny-rainy-snowy-back-to-sunny” days that only April can deliver.

Around 4pm it seemed fine, and it was time to walk ol’ Bally the Pooch before his dinner. Sure, some clouds were coming over the horizon out here on the farm, but I didn’t think much of it. After all, we had been rained on every morning all week, and so what was another late afternoon shower?

As we got 50 steps from the house, the rain turned to ice pellets. At 100 yards from home, we heard thunder.

And then – the lightening bolt struck directly ahead of me.

It was perhaps fifty feet away at most, but I swear it felt like just twenty. It was both terrifying and amazing at the same time.

(But no, my life didn’t flash before my eyes…or at least if it did, it didn’t show all of the good parts!)

I stood there for a moment being pelted by ice and wind, trying to process what had just happened. Finally I snapped out of it, pulled on Bally the Dog, and we turned and sprinted for the safety of home.

Had I not taken an extra 30 seconds to find an old pair of running shoes for the walk, would it have been a direct hit?

Is that the head-shaking way that I would have gone out?

Would this have been the headline in Friday’s Stratford Beacon Herald?

“Bizarre local man, aged 37, dies after being struck by lightening while stupidly walking his dog in a storm”

If so, I’d have been very, very disappointed.

That’s not how I want to go out.

And so, that left me with the question…

What did that lightening bolt mean?

Was it just a random act of nature? Or should I take it as a sign from the heavens? Was it luck? Or Fate? A signal to check the weather before my next dog walk? Or a signal to start making REAL changes in my life?

I thought about this. A lot.

After all, I had plenty of time while on the 3 hour drive from Stratford down to Lapeer, Michigan this weekend for filming (but no time to think while filming those new Turbulence Training workouts, that’s for sure!).

Finally, it hit me. (Not the lightening bolt, but “what it meant”.)

It’s time for me to grow up.

It’s time for a big transformation.

It’s time to make changes in my life.

Do you feel the same way?

What if it had been you out there in the storm?

What would have gone through your mind if lightening crashed only a few feet away from you?

Would your thoughts have turned to your family?

Your health?

What part of your life would you feel most dissatisfied with?

Where do you need to make big changes?

I realized that my family and money skills have taken a back seat to my business and health. Not that either of them are really, really bad, but…

…knowing what – and who I know – I could certainly be doing better. I can give more attention to both of these matters – and I’m going to start TODAY.

It’s time for a change.

I’m dedicating the next 12 weeks of my life to make a massive transformation in both areas of my life. I’ll be documenting these changes on my blog and in my Transformation Journal over at the TT Members site.

The timing is perfect, because the 17th Turbulence Training Transformation Contest starts today. I’ll be joining all of my readers – and hopefully YOU, too – in making BIG changes over the next few months.

Sure, almost everyone in the 17th TT Transformation Contest will be working to lose fat with the world’s best TT workouts, but we’re all in this TRANSFORMATION together.

We’ll all be harnessing the power of the Four Pillars of Success – Accountability, Social Support, Incentives, and The Deadline – to take MASSIVE ACTION in our lives.

So what about you?

Is it time for you to make changes?
Maybe you have the perfect family life but you’ve let your health and fitness get away from you…and now you just don’t have the energy to keep up with your kids or to get your health and vitality back as you hit your late 40′s or even early 50′s. It’s never too late.

So let’s change. Let’s help you Transform your life, your health, and your body. Let’s do this – today!

Won’t you join me in the 17th TT contest that starts today?

It’s time for a brand NEW start – for both of us.

It doesn’t matter what we’ve done in the past. We can’t change that.

In fact, all we can do is look back and LEARN positive lessons from our mistakes. That’s the right attitude. And then we take those lessons and apply them to future SUCCESS.

Past failures aren’t bad. Failure isn’t final. Failure is just practice!

Listen, if there is one thing I know after having observed this crazy world for 37 years, it’s that you can SURVIVE almost anything and come back better and stronger than ever before. Don’t let the fear of failure stop you from achieving the success you deserve.

I’m going to take my past failures and use them as guiding lessons to change my life. I’m calling this my, “Craig’s Time to Grow Up Transformation”.

It’s time to take life a little more seriously.

After all, I’ve been extremely fortunate and lucky in life.

I was born with virtually no limits on what I could achieve. There has been nothing in the way of my success in life but me.

And so with a little hard work and a lot of luck (and great people supporting me along the way), I’ve been able to build up this beautiful Turbulence Training world.

It really is a beautiful thing what we have here in these emails that I can share with you, in the community we have at TTMembers.com, on the TT Facebook page, with the new Home Workout Revolution System, and with all of the Certified TT Trainers and the Summit.

It really is fantastic and MORE than I ever thought possible when I starting working on this idea back in 1999.

Not to mention my fitness family of friends. From Joel to Roman (who hit #4 on the NY Times Best Sellers list last week!) to Isabel to Mike Geary to Brad Pilon to Bedros and the 100 or so others that are practically family to me, it’s a beautiful life. I’m a very lucky man.

Plus, there’s Early to Rise. This is literally the business of my dreams because it will allow me to help more people than ever before…and more ways than I ever could have done on my own…with a team of incredible people that believe in my vision.

It’s amazing.

My work world is everything that I could possibly ask for. But of course, that’s not all that life is about.

So it’s time for me to grow up.

And yes, I know, this is a fitness email list…or at least it was “just a fitness email list”.

But I think we’re LONG past the point of where we are just fitness buddies or where you look to me for the latest research on fat loss, workouts, and nutrition.

Some of you have been on my email list since the first newsletter I sent out in 1999 (!). Many others have been TT Members since 2007 when I first started the membership site.

We’re fitness family. I wake up thinking about how to help you every day. I think about you on almost every single dog walk I take out on the farm or in the big city of Toronto.

And family helps out one another in anyway that they can.

So the next 12 weeks is going to be my “Time to Grow Up Transformation”. And I’m going to share everything that I learn – here, on the TTFatLoss.com blog, on my FB page, and in the TT Member’s site.

It’s time for me to get serious and work towards all of my goals and dreams in life. Not just the fitness ones, or the business building goals that I have.

As I mentioned, to do this, I’ll be using the Four Pillars of Success. Those are Accountability, Social Support, Incentives, and The Deadline.

These are available to all of us. No matter what YOU want to change. Harness the Power of the Four Pillars of Success in the TT Contest here: www.TurbulenceTrainingContest.com
