the article on the five strategies to dream building…particularly referring to “house cleaning” hit a nerve. Of course, when it’s a spouse, or child i fully commit. Now that theirs have been met and mine. I am now with a new purpose and my wife still supports it but with restrictions that adversely affect my efficacy. Thank you for this report. We will succeed…

    Craig..
I am glad that I have found you, the ‘Australian Dream’ has diminished much the same as the ‘American Dream’.
Have recently started marketing this new business and establishing a firm Face Book platform.
I am scratching around with some excitement to the next stages
Thanks would love to meet you some day.
    Warm regards

Heard so much about this newsletter, was excited to receive it. Can’t wait to read some new, original content.

I would recommend dropping the “American Dream” thing. In the eyes of the real world, outside the USA, the pursuit of the American Dream is what wiped out your country’s economy, and credibility.

Foreigners now own more of America than America does, with the average Canadian holding more stake in the USA than the average resident of the USA.

I love the material here, but a shift from the long-dead American Dream ideals would be forward looking and much more relevant.

    Keep up the great work!

  6. Bosun Ojomo on 09/1/2012 at 1:53 pm

Davies needs to be reminded that America has always been owned by foreigners. It is that ability to accomodate and integrate all foreigners under a flag that makes the country unique. The American dream will always remain relevant

    Dear ETR,

As a long time resident of Arizona I was not happy that you made a generalization about my adopted home state regarding the immigration issue in a recent issue. We are a diverse state with many opinions on the immigration issue. We just happened to pass a series of state laws that mirrors federal law already in existence. Now we are labeled as an intolerant state. This is a complex issue and generalizations about the people of Arizona have no place in your publication.

As an Inventor with many ideas, like the one which has won a National Road Safety Award Winner from the iInstitute of Highways and Transportation, sponsored by the Mobil Oil Company, with the product of raodlites, which are an update of Percy Shaws invention the (cats-eyes) roadlites relay more information than cats-eyes showing both sides of the road with a continuous line of light, without the use of electricity, batteries or bulbs, making the true view of the width and alignment of the road ahead as far as drivers can see.
Keeping motorists to their own side of the road in foggy conditions, overcoming visual and language barriers at night of junctions, road ends, road signs and roundabouts, with colour coding that assists to inform all road users of danger, distance, directions, hazards and of speed, without confusing or distracting their attention and concentration from the road ahead of them.

  12. Malcolm Manby on 12/20/2012 at 7:59 am

Ideas are the life blood for the present day, to build, create, improve and bring better conditions for the younger generations yet to come.
Worldwide there are 750 million vehicles and over 1 and a half million lives being lost each year, and the cause is because government and the motor mnufacturers would rather blame oneanother, instead of doing something about this disaster that has resulted with atrocious outcome for motorists.
There are many ways to solve these problems, but again you will not hear it from those who proffiting, by continually refusing to look at new methods.

  13. RASHID KHAWAR ABBAS on 12/30/2012 at 1:08 am

That is good while you advise others , you advise yourself too. This is in fact a positive thinking process.

  14. Evelyn on 01/1/2013 at 9:21 am

This morning I rolled out of bed & discovered this first day of the New Year is giving us rains, & very foggy world around me. It is much like days I have seen in California when I lived there. I love Tennessee where I live now. It is a very
    beautiful country.
I began trying to fit into this program yesterday (the last day of 2012._) I was happy to hear about ETR. I think is it a wonderful idea & will be helpful to me for the changes I want in my life. I do try to eat healthy & MUST return to the habit since the “goodies” of Christmas are over now for me. I did eat much too much candy & other sweets, which for me is not a good thing. I do not exercise as look forward to spring when I can get back gardening. I like to do for others & truly believe that we need GOOD attitudes. My
attitude had changed over the years for the better & I want to live like the poem by Guest that was published in l942 book. It says “I have to live with my self so I want to be good for myself to know” Wonderful poem & often reminds me of what I need to practice. A smile is a great thing to receive from others so I try to give one, hoping it will encourage someone else as much as one does for me. Try it, it is a great way to start ANY day. -Evelyn

    Business
    • No more handshake agreements. Business is business.
    • Get a contract.
    • Be clear.
    • Write it down. Have it in writing
    Dear Craig,
I picked the above from your ‘coaching materials’ which are brilliant. I am a lawyer and when I attend to my client’s business I am always professionally good and devoid of problems-IT’s only when I deal with friends ,accept the casualness, lacking the professionalism that I end up in trouble-always.
THIS is wrong. What you are saying here is true.
Business is business. What I have learned from my past experiences is there’s no friendship in business and the ‘enemy-friend’ will cloak themselves under the smiles ,love and friendship-that we get swayed and be led to the snake’s lair. Many a times I have been carelessly used by these so called friends, even losing that friendship!
Trusting friends and being sincere and genuine doesn’t pay- you MUST have a certain degree of suspicion and questioning the motives of others;regardless..When you accept the “looseness of the business arrangements as saying its ok to be that way with friends”- you would THINK at the end of the day,you should be appreciated for your kindness and charity. Do not be deceived-they will turn around and scoff at your ‘stupidity’ as they already benefited from your generosity..An attitude of having caution and a certain degree of professionalism will go a long way in preserving the status quo that you will expect to protect yourself well into the future, You just have to do it-YOU MUST. DO NOT let others take you for a ride, just be professional.
With your enemy you will be prepared. With ‘friends’ who are your enemy you let your guards down.So-leave the niceties of friendship OUT of business-Business IS Business.

    Cheers;
    NooR

I feel happy by being able to say some thing, listen some thing being on a conscientious forum. I have all the intentions to share with the community I am herein. But I was wandering whether I can put a personal question for my updating at least academically at this stage. My question is that can the British government allocate “Adopted” status to a baby for any UK national on the ground of her/his mother request to her second husband ( UK national) with out any consultation/information to the baby’s father living and in complete senses though physically ill for a transitory period. This happened around 1978 , the baby being born in 1975, i being the father handicapped by no access to the ex in-laws. I will be highly thankful for contributory remarks.

  21. RASHID KHAWAR ABBAS on 01/9/2013 at 10:10 pm

AS regard Craig Ballantine’s suggestion to start today pressurising your self to the stricter following of standards, I have done just that. My problem is to be a decent, articulate person under tremendous pressure of nature to protest and protest rather awkwardly. I have learned to go to a reasonable extent doing protest against entirely impossible (Will you believe me) negative pressure of nature with its intervention through vocal comments and at times even on deep inside thoughts as if if I am talking to her/him. Is it not fascinating? But this it. I understand taking cue of Stephen Covey’s observations in SEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE, one must be able to devise methods to apply in such utter disturbance. My apologies for any difficult discourse. Thanks to every body who goes through it.

  22. RASHID KHAWAR ABBAS on 01/9/2013 at 10:13 pm

The name of book in my earlier discourse was SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE. About the issue I wanted to say “THAT IS IT”. Sorry for any inconvenience.

  23. Patrice Helms on 01/14/2013 at 4:40 pm

Please forward this to Craig for me. I can only hope and pray that you can provide me with a reason to keep on keeping on. My husband is so negative and demanding that I spend no more time or effort or money to build my business. I try to explain what it means to me to feel productive and contributing to our future. He gets furious when I ask for money to print business cards to to buy gas to attend a networking event. He has no faith in me or any direct marketing opportunity out there. His first wife was not successful when she tried to promote Melaluca and Herbal Life. It has become the source of constant fighting and me crying nearly every day. I tell him that just as adament as he is telling me to quit, I am just as firmly determined to be successful. Every single issue is, ‘well how much did you make with that?(flyers, business cards, online advertising) or how much are you going to make if you go to that meeetup group or that networking event? I’m just wasting gas and my time and ‘his’ money. I’m so despondent over this ongoing argument that I rarely share anything about it with him anymore. Should I just give up and stay home, since I don’t have any reason to be going anywhere anyways?
    Patrice

I woke up happy knowing today am gona stick to the discition i made before going to bed last night,to keep away from my smooking habbit and involve my self in more excersise than ever. Since i was born in the month of february,i believe i should be strong enough to transform my life through the rebirth of a new character to result into a great change. In life every one is given the inner ability to make difficult choises and take though discitions that can improve once’s self positively. I pray with this i can find the girl of my dream, cos beside every succesful man is a good woman. If action speaks louder than words i urge all my challangers to stand up and work hard to encourage each other through good example. Thank you!

As a kid if we weren’t getting in trouble then you knew something was really wrong with the scene. You would start to wonder, whats up with the crew they aren’t the same, something must be really wrong. I didn’t see my guys get like that often, honestly death is about the one thing that would shut us up, calm us down, make us see eye-to-eye with the other people that were imposing on our stage that we called the world. I will never forget the first time we even experienced a death of someone our own age. This 11 year old boy William Harris, leukemia, 4th grade, devastating. The world, at least in all its glory, was jaded from that point on, for me, and my crew.

The “Early to Rise” is amazing and it works.

This article has motivated me as I had to make a decision about my career today.

Thanks for the lines like “The world needs people that achieve great things. The world needs you to live up to your potential. The world needs you and your talents and your big ideas now more than ever. The world needs you to be the best and biggest you that you can be.”

    Thank you once again.

  32. Christine on 02/22/2013 at 8:20 am

Very true on ‘Power of Habits’. Many of us do things without thinking that if we keep doing them it becomes a habit and forming good habits is so very important. I began to examine my habits after reading your article and there are many that I need to modify to make them more productive!! Thanks Craig.

  33. Therese on 02/22/2013 at 7:01 pm

Hi Craig, enjoyed a look into the world you created that supports your success.
I am a shiftworker, that works throughout the 24 hr clock. The hardest thing
I find with a fluctuating work schedule is being able to create routine and thus
habits that I can link to a routine. Do you have any suggestions for bringing
the best of these two together?

    • Craig Ballantyne on 02/22/2013 at 10:50 pm

Therese, you still just need to start habits with each shift. You can do it with a little ingenuity.

  34. RASHID KHAWAR ABBAS on 03/4/2013 at 8:38 am

Today’s mail is pretty positive as these mails have been. It is always raising spirit to listen positive words. There is no doubt that whatever the worst one is in a situation could be, remembering that “there is nothing wrong with one” make things at least lot better. Dear Readers! just try.
