Locution- (loh-KYOO-shun)-from the Latin for “speech”-is a style or form of verbal expression, especially as used by a particular person or group.
Example (as used by Tom Wilkinson): “The English locution you are familiar with, the body language and all those sorts of things, are denied you, because Americans don’t talk in that highly nuanced, middle-class English way.”
