Nothing Gets Done Without a Deadline

Every morning I read one of the 100 Kekich Credo’s, which are 100 “life lessons” written by a very interesting man, Dave Kekich.

One that always strikes me with its power and simplicity is:

“No one gets old by surprise.” – Kekich Credo #84

We all have things we want to accomplish.

We all have dreams and goals of a better life that we want to live.

Yet for some of us, the steps we need  to take to get there are always “put off until tomorrow”.

I know this from experience. I’m far from perfect. I’ve delayed and procrastinated on a few of my biggest life goals for a long time…although I’m getting better at getting things done.

One of these was creating a Certification for my fitness business. It had been on my ‘to-do’ list for years.

I finally finished it up and launched it this week.

So what was the turning point that changed it from “something I’ll get to” to something DONE?

Simple.

It was switching from the mindset of creating just another product to creating a MISSION.

I’ve implemented a mission and a movement in my business that has attracted others, harnessed my energy, and given me laser-like focus on the task, because now it is BIGGER
than just me. It’s bigger than just another product in a spreadsheet. The new product will be my legacy.

So if you’re struggling to get your product/website done, ask yourself these questions:

What is your mission?

Why were you put here? Were you just randomly inserted on this planet to take up space, to text in your vote for American Idol, and leave a carbon footprint?

Or do you wake up every day thinking about something you want to do and something you want to change in the world?

If so, do you take action on this dream? Are you at least planning to take action on this dream?

Can you take action today and get one step closer to “DONE”?

You need to shift your mindset.

Stop thinking about “making money online”.

Forget about even “Building a website business”.

Instead, join me in shifting your thinking to “Leaving a legacy”. Creating a movement. Building a mission. Establishing something bigger than you. Bigger than your bank account.

Build a grand vision of your future and how you can help hundreds, thousands, and millions of people in the world.

If you’ve never thought about a Vision for your business, please take time to review the “Vision Building” exercise that I discovered in a recent issue of Inc. magazine. It has had a massive impact on my life, and I know it will for you too.

You can find the 3 simple steps to creating your Vision here.

It will change your life.

After you’ve done that, set a DEADLINE to act now, for without deadlines, nothing would get done.

Take action.

Action leads to attraction.

Action creates momentum and brings opportunity. You’ll be amazed at the people you attract into your business and life when you start taking action and overcome inertia.

Finally, I just want to thank all of our new subscribers, and to welcome them to Internet Independence.

Just a quick note on why I’m writing these emails…it’s my goal to help 1000 men and women create Internet Independence for themselves in 2011. That means giving them the ability to work from wherever they want, while supporting themselves financial. I’ve been able to do this for over 6 years, and I can’t imagine a better life.

So again, welcome, and I hope I can help you.

I know a lot of new readers have been asking the 2 most common questions, so here they are with the answers:

1) How do I get more traffic/vistors to my website?
