Revenant
Archives: Word to the Wise
A “revenant” (REV-un-nunt) – from the French – is someone who returns after death (as a ghost) or after a long absence.
Example (as used by D.H. Lawrence in Women in Love): “He pale, immobile like a revenant himself, looked sometimes out of the window, sometimes closed his eyes.”
