Repletion
Archives: Word to the Wise
“Repletion” (rih-PLEE-shun) – from the Latin for “to refill” – is excessive fullness, as from overeating.
Example (as used by Kenneth Rose in the Daily Telegraph): “With distended belly and bursting waistcoat, his eyes glazed with repletion, he picks listlessly at his teeth with a fork.”
