Redolent
Archives: Word to the Wise
“Redolent” (RED-uh-lunt) – from the Latin for “to emit a scent” – can refer to something that’s (1) aromatic or (2) evocative.
Example (as used by Lisa Verrico in the [London] Times): “Backed by soaring sax and energetic percussion, Martin makes the sort of celebratory, Spanish party music redolent of warm weather and cocktails.”
