New Email Rules

A couple of years ago, our buddy Joel Marion gave a killer presentation at Yanik Silver’s UnderGround Online Seminar. In fact, he won marketer of the year for his secrets on “How to Write an Email, Press Send, and Make Money“.

If you want to make money like Joel Marion does, you need to become a master copywriter, persuader, and email marketer.

You have to be willing to put in the work. You must spend time in deliberate practice.

“It is unreasonable to think we can earn rewards without being willing to pay their true price. It is always our choice whether or not we wish to pay the price for life’s rewards.” – Epictetus

Fortunately, as an Internet Independence reader, you get a Fast Track to Success. Today, I’m giving you some basic email marketing rules (that I recently put together for one of my Publishing Partners), and then you’ll get some advanced moneymaking email tips from Joel.

The Basics

If you’re just getting started, then begin with this simple formula. In each email, use a success story to answer a frequently asked question. See the sample email below.

Use your emails to reassure your customers that they have purchased a great product. Many of the buyers will not even have opened the program. But they still need to be reassured that they made the right decision to buy.

Sample Email Subject Line: #1 Core Training Exercise

The gym was packed on Saturday morning. Every Swiss Ball, ab wheel, and cable station was taken. Some equipment even had a line-up.

But my client, Amy, had nothing to worry about. All we needed was the TRX and a tiny amount of space. With that, I promised her the workout of a lifetime.

After all, you can train every muscle, while burning a ton of calories, when you have a TRX.

We went through another classic Suspension Revolution (you’ll find an almost identical workout on page __ of your Suspension Revolution program).

And when it came time to finish the workout, I gave her my #1 core training exercise. Flip to page ___ to see the photo and description of ____. Or just watch the video ____ (IF APPLICABLE).

That, my friend, is the best core exercise you can do. Period.

Try that workout, use that exercise, and let me know what you think about the Suspension Revolution System by replying to this email.

Suspension training rocks,

Dan Long

That’s a super simple template. It uses a formula that Bedros loves called, “Star – Story – Solution”. Bedros first learned this from the legendary copywriter, Gary Halbert. It works.

Now for some advanced tips from Joel Marion’s latest promotional emails.

From Joel…

Some quick notes on our email testing for this free opt-in promotion:

1. When Promoting An Opt-In, Use Short Emails to Sell the Click

We’ve tested longer emails and they totally bombed.  Email needs to be short and sweet to get as many people over to the opt-in as possible.  It’s just like if you were linking them to an article – the value of the email is delivered once they click…your job is to as many people as possible to click that link.

2. Subject line is VERY important.

We test over 20 subject lines with our emails and finding the right one can increase open rate by 30%. Always be testing.

3. Tweak the Link

Making the hyperlink text bold and a bigger font size than the rest of the email got 20% more clicks
