Best. Birthday. Cake. Ever. (pic & recipe inside)

When it comes to cake (any food) I am a very picky guy. Most cakes are filled with ingredients that cause bloating, fatigue, heartburn, and belly fat.

So when it came time to order a cake for my big 40th birthday celebration in San Diego this weekend, there was only one person I could trust. That was my dear friend and America’s #1 fat loss chef, Diana Keuilian. I begged and pleaded with her to make me a cake that tasted amazing and was free of the 5 Deadly Ingredients. Oh, and it HAD to be chocolate!

Boy did she deliver!

I’ve honestly never had a cake this delicious (and that includes years of growing up with my Aunt Ann’s famous birthday cake icing). Plus, as a fitness guru sharing this cake with the 100+ Certified TT Trainers and TT readers at the TT Summit, I demanded that it be made without the 5 Deadly Ingredients. That way the cake will help ol’ CB keep his washboard abs as rock-hard as Bally the Dog’s abs.

By the way, Diana was kind enough to share this special, Fat Burning Birthday Cake recipe so that you too can enjoy a slice of CB’s chocolate heaven (wait, that sounds a little weird, LOL…anyways, here’s the recipe…).

CB’s 40th Birthday Cake

For the Chocolate Cake:
•    3 cups blanched almond flour
•    ¼ cup coconut flour
•    ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
•    ¾ cup coconut palm sugar
•    2 teaspoons baking soda
•    1 teaspoon sea salt
•    ½ cup coconut oil
•    1 cup coconut milk, canned and full fat
•    3 eggs
•    1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
•    ¼ teaspoon almond extract
•    ¼ cup raw honey, melted
•    ¼ cup dark chocolate pieces, finely chopped

For the Chocolate Ganache Frosting:
•    10oz dark chocolate pieces
•    4 Tablespoons coconut oil
•    1 Tablespoon maple syrup
For the Chocolate Cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line the bottom of a 9″ cake pan with parchment paper. Grease the pan with coconut oil.
  2. In a large bowl combine all of the dry ingredients. Mix will until all of the lumps disappear. In another bowl combine all of the wet ingredients. Mix well and then add the dry to the wet. Mix until fully combined and then add in the chocolate pieces.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden and cooked through. Remove from oven and cool.

For the Chocolate Ganache Frosting:

  1. In a double boiler over low heat, melt the ingredients together, mixing often until smooth.

Assembling your Cake:

  1. Use a long serrated knife to slice the cake in half, horizontally. Place the bottom cake piece on a cake plate. Top with half of the ganache frosting. Top with the remaining cake piece and frost the top with the remaining chocolate ganache. Chill until party time. Enjoy!

PPS – Here’s one more piece of 40th Birthday Wisdom to share with you…

One of the most important to do is track your results, your workouts, and your diet. The more you know about yourself, and the more you respond to this knowledge, the better your results will be. Start tracking and testing immediately. Give every program or diet at least 3 weeks to give it a fair shot. Record everything. Identify your obstacles and eliminate temptations and negative environments. Find out what works, do more of what does and less of what doesn’t.
