One way to attract traffic to your website is with “widget bait” – offering useful WordPress add-ons. But that’s not the only way to make your site more appealing to potential customers.
You see, when you create your own widget, you can submit it to WordPress.org. Once WordPress approves it, thousands of webmasters around the globe have the chance to download your widget to their sites.
Here’s where the traffic aspect comes into play. Every time a webmaster downloads your widget, your link will be displayed on his site. This puts your link – and a sample of your useful offering – in front of new potential customers. Plus, the link helps increase your “link popularity” – which means that you’ll rank higher in the search engines’ results.

So get yourself a PHP coder and build a widget! If you’re not able to do it yourself, you can hire someone to develop a widget for you at a fairly cheap rate. There are plenty of coders available at places like elance.com, guru.com, getafreelancer.com, and many other online freelancer portals.
